GD III for Tuesday, Oct. 5

Your creative brief (300-500 words) is due at the beginning of class. The purpose for a creative brief in a designer/client relationship is that the purpose of a project is clearly outlined and a basic approach to the potential creative solutions is established from the very inception of the project. For you as the designer, it is also an opportunity to clarify your own thoughts using critical thinking.

1. The creative brief should begin with a brief statement about your country and what you feel is important for the "client"/viewer to understand about that country. What makes this country unique in the world?

2. Describe the subjects that you have discovered in your research that you feel will make appropriate subjects for currency. These subjects should all relate to #1--what makes your country unique? Is it the crafts, textiles, architecture, history, food, environment, literary tradition, or agricultural products? Why have you chosen to focus on one or more than one of these (describe your logic.)

3. How do you intend to communicate the thoughts in #1 and #2 on two denominations of currency. What will be on the front and back of each one?

BEFORE the beginning of class, have as many images scanned and ready to manipulated in Photoshop as you need to fulfill # 1, #2, and #3 above.
