GD II for Tuesday, Oct. 26

Due at the beginning of class: minimum of 15 designs created by scanning your best work (identified during class on Thursday) and expanding/adjusting/improving those ideas combined with the name of the cafe in either handdrawn letters (intentionally casual) or typography. You can take two tactics when combining the image with type: 1. choose a typeface with a line quality that is very similar to your drawing or 2. choose a typeface with a line quality that has stark contrast to the drawing style.

Avoid trying to make little pictures out of your letters, or creating a logo where the symbol and the type always have to appear together. Remember, the best logos are 1. memorable 2. simple. Also avoid making two large "C"s, entangled "C"s or having part of your image look like a "C."

We are preparing for a client meeting with Chris (and wife?) on Tuesday, November 2. Each of you will need to present your three strongest solutions in both color and black and white. These will need to be printed out and mounted on black foam core as you would prepare any work for a client presentation.
