Congrats on a spectacular job on the architecture posters! Wow. Best batch ever. I will do my best to have them graded for you by Tuesday.
Before class begins:
1.) Choose your strategy for the type specimen book by selecting which typefaces you will use. As soon as you have done that, research the typefaces for details on the designer and other pertinent information.
2. Using cheap copier paper (8.5" x 14" cut down to 7" x 7" will be easiest and cheapest to work with.) Plan a strategy on paper for how you plan to present the information. Remember, let the information unfold, beginning slowly, getting most complex in the middle, and winding down at the end to a finale. Plan your pages with pencil sketching -- quickly indicating the direction of your composition. Indicate text type using type-drawing "shorthand" as we did on the beginning sketches for the architecture poster.
Refer to Chapters 1 and 2 in your textbook frequently. Remember, you must use all the vocabulary words listed on your project sheet at least once throughout the book.
